Ordered tamales and this was how it looked when I opened it. I'm appalled that they would serve this to someone. The tamales were filled with fat and cartilage. I also ordered flan, but they gave me cheesecake instead which I am allergic to. I knew of this restaurant for 10+ years and never ate here until now. I'm really disappointed by the quality of food. They should be ashamed. I wish I would've checked my order before I left.
This is our first visit here since we are living in Hattiesburg. We'll all I can say this place are stuff are really friendly especially our server he greeted us with beautiful smile.Food was really good -I got a happy meal which in lunch express .Great experience and would love to come back soon.
There are Mexican restaurants in the region (El Sombrero, e.g.) that have similar atmosphere. It's not the best, but not the most expensive, either, so it's a good value. If you're trying to impress a date maybe try the pricier spot. But if you want to catch dinner with the family or just meeting friends for drinks and nachos, it's just right. Two things put El Torero head & shoulders above those "similar" restaurants: friendly wait staff who seem to WANT to take care of customers, and the depth of the menu. We'll be eating here again, and gladly.
While the food tastes is great, beware that your order will almost never be what you ordered! I'll go back but only if my regular Mexican restaurant is too crowded.
Salsa and chips was the best part. Had a bad feeling when a Mexican joint didn't serve blackbeans. Margaritas were pretty bad, food was gross, produce looked like it was spoiled. The worst part? The wierd grey soupy refried beans. 2/5 those beans will haunt my dreams for years to come.
